We try, as far as possible, to offer clients the widest choice of facilities in pursuit of our "country house hotel" theme. We cater for nearly every requirement that our clients may have and include the following:
Laundry - all bed linen and towels are supplied and a full personal laundry service is provided at no extra charge by our "in house" laundry.
Catering - on arrival clients are asked for their preferred choices of meals and our chefs prepare special diets as required. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in either of the dining rooms or in our clients' rooms. Afternoon tea is served daily for clients as well as their guests.
We try, wherever possible to use local fresh products (including our own organic vegetables). Home baking and a varied and nutrious diet are features of the catering.
Personal Affairs - Our Administrator maintains clients' personal petty cash expenses as required. Our staff and friends also raise funds for clients' entertainment and excursions - the "residents' fund" which is jointly administered by the Administrator and representatives of clients' families.
Hairdresser - the hairdresser visits the salon regularly.
Chiropody - A chiropodist calls at Windmill House to attend to clients' requirements.
Dentist - A local dentist provides a service to Windmill House.
Optician - A local optician services clients.
Doctor - Clients may retain their family doctor or register with the doctors' surgery next to Windmill House.
Social Services - Clients may register with a local social worker who makes regular visits to Windmill House.
Pastoral Care - Clients' pastoral care is catered for by visiting ministers who hold services in Windmill House.
Entertainment - Our own entertainments coordinator organises regular musical, and therapy sessions. We have visiting musical players and excursions to local events are organised. Our regular canal barge trips are always popular. Our wheelchair–friendly garden enables our residents to continue to exercise their “green fingers” and our landscaped gardens include a tranquil water feature and a summer house where residents often entertain their visitors.
